⭕As part of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University's commitment to improving the educational system and student services, and enhancing the quality of academic services provided to students, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of the University, and Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, and Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, held an extensive meeting this morning, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, in the Faculty Council Hall. The meeting was attended by the heads of academic departments, coordinators of the new fee-based programs, heads of theoretical examination committees, the director of the Faculty's Academic Advising Unit, academic advising coordinators for the academic departments and new programs, and the Director of Student Affairs at the Faculty.
⭕The meeting aimed to review the most prominent performance indicators in the education and student services sector during the 2025/2026 academic year and to discuss ways to develop the academic and administrative services provided to students, within the framework of the Faculty's plan for continuous improvement and early preparation for the new academic year.
The meeting began with a brief presentation on the activities of the academic departments related to the education and student affairs sector. Department heads reviewed the most prominent academic and student activities and initiatives implemented during the academic year, along with key achievements and challenges encountered, all contributing to future development plans.
The meeting also discussed the report submitted by the Academic Advising Unit and the advising coordinators in the academic departments and new programs. This report included a comprehensive evaluation of the academic advising system, highlighting the most significant achievements of the year, as well as proposals for development and improvement, and mechanisms to enhance course registration services and respond to student inquiries and complaints more efficiently and effectively.
The meeting also addressed a proposal to establish an electronic registration unit within the organizational structure of the education and student affairs sector. This unit would contribute to developing course registration procedures, improving the efficiency of digital services, and streamlining academic processes, in line with the university's focus on digital transformation and institutional governance. Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, affirmed that the faculty prioritizes the student and is committed to the continuous development of its educational system and student services. This commitment stems from a vision aimed at enhancing the quality of institutional performance and providing advanced academic services that align with best modern practices. He noted that performance evaluation and discussion of development proposals are essential steps towards building a more efficient and sustainable educational system.
For his part, Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, explained that the meeting is part of a series of periodic meetings held by the faculty to monitor performance and evaluate the academic experience. He emphasized that developing the academic advising system and expanding electronic services are two key pillars of the faculty's plan for the 2026/2027 academic year. This will expedite service delivery, increase student satisfaction, and enhance the quality of the educational process.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and integration between the various scientific sectors and departments, and working as one team to achieve the college’s goals in institutional development, while continuing to adopt quality initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of educational and student services, and enhance the position of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University as a leading academic institution that seeks excellence and innovation, and prepares graduates capable of competing and actively contributing to serving the community and achieving the goals of sustainable development.
