The Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University is organizing an interactive workshop on adopting academic standards (NARS–ARS) within the framework of developing educational programs.


⭕As part of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University's strategy to enhance the quality of the educational process and promote a culture of academic development in accordance with the requirements of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NARS), and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of the University, the Faculty's Quality Assurance Unit organized an interactive workshop entitled "Adopting Academic Standards (NARS-ARS)" on Wednesday morning, July 8, 2026, in Hall (309) of the Educational Technology Department.

⭕The workshop was held under the auspices of Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, and supervised by Professor Dr. Hanan El-Sadek Radwan, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit. Faculty members and teaching assistants from the Educational Technology, Educational Media, and Community Education and Classroom Teacher Programs participated, emphasizing the importance of unifying academic visions and developing educational programs according to the latest national standards.

The workshop was attended by Professor Dr. Hemmat El-Saqqa, Professor Emeritus of Media in the Department of Educational Media; Professor Dr. Hani Helmy, former Dean of the Faculty; Professor Dr. Safinaz Samir, Acting Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research and Head of the Department of Home Economics; Professor Dr. Hanem Khaled, Head of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences; Professor Dr. Shaimaa Fathy, Head of the Department of Educational Media; and a number of faculty members and teaching assistants.

Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that adopting national academic standards is a fundamental pillar for developing study programs and improving the quality of learning outcomes. He noted that the Faculty continues to implement its strategic plan to update its academic programs to align with labor market demands and the Egyptian state's vision for developing the higher education system. He stressed that investing in developing the capabilities of faculty members is a key pillar for achieving institutional and academic excellence.

⭕For her part, Professor Dr. Hanan Al-Sadiq Radwan, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, explained that the workshop is part of a series of training programs implemented by the unit to disseminate a culture of quality and enhance the awareness of faculty members and teaching assistants regarding the importance of applying academic reference standards. This contributes to developing program and course descriptions and achieving alignment between learning outcomes and the needs of society and the labor market.

⭕The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Salah Sharif and Professor Dr. Awatif Bahij, who reviewed the fundamental concepts of the National Academic Reference Standards (NARS) and the Academic Reference Standards for Programs (ARS), as well as the mechanisms for adopting and applying them in the design and development of programs and courses. They also clarified best practices in formulating learning outcomes and linking them to teaching and assessment strategies, in accordance with the latest requirements of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education. The workshop also featured a fruitful interactive dialogue that addressed numerous inquiries and practical applications contributing to the standardization of academic work mechanisms within the college.

⭕The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing to implement specialized training programs that promote a culture of quality and continuous development, and consolidate the concepts of academic excellence among faculty members and assistant staff, in order to support the College of Specific Education’s journey towards improving its educational programs, enhancing its readiness for academic accreditation, and consolidating its position as one of the leading colleges in preparing qualified cadres who possess the knowledge, skills, ability to compete and innovate.
