⭕As part of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University's commitment to developing academic programs and promoting a culture of quality and institutional accreditation, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of the University, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky Gaballah, Dean of the Faculty, the Faculty's Quality Assurance Unit organized a workshop on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026, entitled "Introducing the National Qualifications Framework and its Importance in Developing Study Programs, and Explaining the Course Description Model According to the Latest Publications of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education." The workshop was held in the discussion hall of the Home Economics building.
The workshop was attended by Professor Dr. Fathi Hassan, former Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hani Helmy, former Dean of the College, and Professor Dr. Hemmat El-Saqqa, Professor of Media in the Department of Educational Media, along with the heads of academic departments, most notably Professor Dr. Reham Ehab, Head of the Department of Music Education, Professor Dr. Hanem Khaled, Head of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, and Professor Dr. Shaimaa Fathi, Head of the Department of Educational Media. Faculty members and teaching assistants from various departments of the College also participated.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the National Qualifications Framework as a fundamental pillar for developing academic programs and linking learning outcomes to academic standards and the labor market. It also aimed to introduce the mechanisms for preparing course descriptions according to the latest models issued by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, thus contributing to the College's readiness to meet the requirements of academic development and accreditation.
Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, affirmed that the continuous development of academic programs and courses is a cornerstone of the Faculty's strategy to enhance the quality of the educational process. He pointed out that implementing the National Qualifications Framework is a pivotal step towards aligning academic programs with local and international changes and strengthening graduates' competitiveness in the job market, in accordance with the vision of the Egyptian state and the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
For her part, Professor Dr. Hanan El-Sadek Radwan, Director of the Faculty's Quality Assurance Unit, explained that organizing this workshop is part of the Unit's plan to disseminate a culture of quality among faculty members and teaching assistants and to build their capacities in the areas of program and course development. She emphasized that adhering to the latest standards of the National Authority is one of the most important elements for sustaining academic excellence and achieving institutional and program accreditation.
The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Salah Sharif and Professor Dr. Awatif Bahij, who reviewed the fundamental concepts of the National Qualifications Framework and the mechanisms for aligning learning outcomes with the framework's levels. They also provided a detailed explanation of the course description model according to the latest editions of the National Authority, clarifying the practical aspects and mechanisms for preparing the description scientifically in accordance with quality and accreditation requirements. The workshop witnessed significant interaction from the attendees, and a discussion session was held to answer inquiries and exchange experiences on best practices in course development.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing to implement specialized training programs that contribute to raising the efficiency of faculty members and teaching assistants, and establishing a culture of quality and continuous development within the college. This supports the achievement of its academic mission and enhances its ability to offer modern educational programs that keep pace with national and international standards, contributing to the preparation of graduates who possess the knowledge, skills, and competence necessary to compete and excel in various fields.
