⭕As part of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University's commitment to developing distinguished academic programs and enhancing the quality of the educational process, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of the University, and Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the Board of Directors of the new fee-based programs held its periodic meeting on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026, chaired by Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty. The meeting addressed several academic and administrative matters related to the implementation of the new credit-hour-based programs.
⭕The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Ahmed Badie, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Dr. Salah Sherif Abdel-Wahab, General Coordinator of Distinguished Programs at the Faculty; Professor Dr. Hany Helmy, former Dean of the Faculty; Professor Dr. Awatif Bahig, Professor of Clothing in the Department of Home Economics and Quality Expert; Professor Dr. Hanem Khaled, Head of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences; and several coordinators of the new programs.
The Council began its session by approving the minutes of the previous meeting, before discussing the approval of the undergraduate results for the second semester (spring session) of the 2025/2026 academic year for students in the new fee-based credit-hour programs, as part of completing the academic procedures in accordance with the applicable regulations and bylaws.
The Council also discussed the approval of the study plans and assignments for undergraduate students for the summer semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, ensuring the smooth running of studies and the continued provision of educational services according to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
The meeting addressed several organizational matters related to preparations for the 2026/2027 academic year, including discussions on proposals to appoint coordinators for several new programs: the English Language Teacher for Primary Grades and Community Education program, the Educational Technology Specialist for Students with Disabilities program, and the Computer Science Teacher for Students with Disabilities program. The Council also discussed a proposal to appoint a general coordinator for the new programs, all with the aim of supporting the development of academic and administrative performance and ensuring the continued success of these programs.
The Council then proceeded to discuss the approval of the results for the new undergraduate programs for the second semester (spring session) of the 2025/2026 academic year for students in the new fee-based programs, as part of completing the academic procedures in accordance with the applicable regulations and bypassing the established rules. Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education and Head of the Council, affirmed that the new programs represent one of the strategic priorities of the Faculty, given their specialized offerings that meet the needs of the labor market and keep pace with the rapid advancements in education and technology. He noted that the Faculty continues to develop these programs according to the latest academic standards, contributing to the preparation of graduates who possess the scientific and practical competence and the ability to compete locally and regionally.
The meeting concluded with a discussion of the latest developments and an emphasis on continuing the development of the new programs and enhancing the quality of their educational outcomes, in line with Zagazig University's strategy and the Egyptian state's vision for advancing the higher education system and preparing qualified personnel capable of meeting future demands and contributing effectively to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
