⭕In line with the strategy of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University, aimed at developing the academic and administrative system and enhancing the quality of the educational and research process, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of the University, Professor Dr. Ehab El-Beblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Hanan El-Nahhas, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty Council held its 198th session on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, chaired by Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky Gaballah, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Faculty Council, and attended by the Vice Deans, Heads of Academic Departments, and members of the Faculty Council, to discuss a number of strategic files that represent fundamental pillars for the continuation of the development and excellence process within the Faculty.
Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky opened the council meeting by extending his sincere congratulations to the council members and faculty on the anniversary of the June 30th Revolution. He emphasized that it was a pivotal national milestone that embodied the will of the Egyptian people and solidified the values of belonging and working towards building the new republic. He prayed to God Almighty to grant Egypt continued security, stability, and progress.
The session included a full agenda of academic, administrative, and research topics. The council approved the minutes of the previous meeting, reviewed the implementation of issued resolutions, and discussed several organizational matters related to the college. This reflects the administration's commitment to continuously monitoring all work processes and ensuring their implementation according to the highest standards of quality and governance.
In support of distinguished academic programs, the council approved the results of the second semester for the new credit-hour programs. It also approved the study plans for the summer semester and discussed several proposals for appointing coordinators for the various programs, a quality coordinator, and a general program coordinator. These appointments aim to enhance the efficiency of program management and achieve the academic objectives of these programs.
The Council also gave considerable attention to the quality and accreditation file, discussing the minutes of the Quality Assurance Unit's Board of Directors meeting, along with a proposal to organize a specialized workshop on course descriptions and reports according to the latest models of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, and in accordance with the National Qualifications Framework. This step confirms the college's continued commitment to updating its academic system to keep pace with national and international developments.
Regarding the Education and Student Affairs sector, the Council approved the results for the second semester of the Bachelor's degree program for both general and new programs. It also approved the study plans and assignments for the summer semester, in addition to forming aptitude test committees for the Departments of Art Education and Music Education, and updating the Bachelor's degree regulations to ensure that educational programs meet the latest academic standards.
⭕In the Graduate Studies and Research sector, the council discussed a wide range of academic topics, including the approval of results for special diploma, master's, and doctoral programs, and the approval of registration for a large number of master's and doctoral theses across various academic departments. The council also approved the formation of examination and evaluation committees, the awarding of academic degrees, and the extension of registration periods for some researchers. This reflects the growing scientific and research activity within the college and its commitment to supporting scientific research and linking it to societal issues and the requirements of sustainable development.
⭕The council also reviewed the minutes of various scientific committees, cultural relations committees, laboratories and research centers, and libraries, and approved their recommendations. Furthermore, it discussed the minutes of the academic department councils and the decisions they contained concerning faculty affairs and the educational process, within a framework of institutional integration among the college's various sectors.
Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky Gaballah, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Faculty Council, affirmed that the ongoing development of the Faculty's regulations, academic programs, postgraduate studies system, and quality assurance reflects a clear vision aimed at enhancing institutional performance and strengthening the Faculty's competitiveness at both the local and international levels. He noted that the Faculty Council is committed to making well-considered decisions based on strategic planning, ensuring the best interests of students, researchers, and faculty members, and supporting the goals of Zagazig University and the Egyptian state's vision for developing the higher education system.
The Council concluded its meetings by emphasizing the continuation of teamwork, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting innovation and academic and research excellence. This will contribute to preparing graduates capable of competing locally, regionally, and internationally, and will strengthen the position of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University as one of the leading faculties in the fields of specific education, scientific research, and community service, thus fulfilling the University's vision and mission for a more distinguished and pioneering future.
