In its pursuit of enhancing the quality of the educational process and developing its academic and administrative performance system, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of Zagazig University, Professor Dr. Ehab El-Beblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Hanan El-Nahhas, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty Council held its 196th meeting to discuss several vital topics related to education and student affairs, graduate studies, new programs, quality assurance, and community service, in light of the Faculty's comprehensive institutional transformation plan.
The Council's proceedings included the discussion and approval of the theoretical and practical examination schedules for the second semester (spring session) of the 2025/2026 academic year. The Council also emphasized the importance of preparing daily reports to monitor the progress of practical examinations and ensuring the smooth operation of examination control centers and the printing of exams according to the established timelines.
The council also discussed mechanisms for developing assessment systems, emphasizing the importance of diversifying exam formats to include both essay questions and multiple-choice questions (MCQs). This ensures accurate measurement of learning outcomes and enhances the quality of academic assessment.
In a related matter, the council reviewed several topics pertaining to postgraduate studies, including amending dissertation titles, approving examination and evaluation committees, and enrolling international students in doctoral and master's programs. This reflects the active academic movement within the college and its commitment to supporting and developing scientific research.
The council also addressed proposals for developing academic programs, discussing new specialized programs, including those in the arts and rehabilitation for people with disabilities. These programs aim to enhance the college's ability to meet labor market needs and development requirements.
