The Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University launches the first pioneering experiment to implement the electronic examination system for students of the new programs.


In a significant step reflecting Zagazig University's commitment to digital transformation and developing its academic assessment system, the Faculty of Specific Education launched its first pilot program for implementing electronic examinations for students in the new programs within the Department of Educational Technology. This pilot involved conducting a mock exam on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the university's examination center, as a prelude to its full implementation in practical and theoretical examinations for the 2025/2026 academic year.

This pilot program was held under the auspices of Professor Khaled El-Darandaly, President of the University, and in the presence of Professor Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. It was supervised by Professor Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, Professor Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Iman Shaaban, Director of the University's Electronic Testing Center and Head of the Department of Educational Technology, and Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Coordinator of the Program for Preparing Educational Technology Specialists for People with Disabilities.

Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim also participated. The experiment targets students in the new programs within the Educational Technology Department: the "Educational Technology Specialist Preparation Program for People with Disabilities" and the "Computer Teacher Preparation Program for People with Disabilities." A pilot electronic exam was administered to assess the readiness of the infrastructure and prepare students to use modern assessment systems, thus ensuring a smooth transition to digital exams.

Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, affirmed that this step comes within the framework of the university's strategy for comprehensive digital transformation and the development of assessment methods to keep pace with modern educational systems. He pointed out that electronic exams represent a qualitative leap towards achieving fairness and transparency and raising the efficiency of the educational process.

For his part, Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, explained that the faculty is working to provide an advanced learning environment based on the latest digital technologies. He emphasized that this experiment represents a true beginning for implementing a modern system that contributes to improving the quality of education and developing students' technological skills.

⭕As Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, the college's Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, pointed out, the college was keen to prepare and train students on using electronic examination systems, ensuring their full readiness for actual application and minimizing any potential challenges during official exams.

⭕In the same context, Professor Dr. Iman Shaaban, Director of the University's Electronic Testing Center, confirmed that the pilot exam was conducted to test the efficiency of the electronic systems and infrastructure and ensure their readiness for actual application. She noted that the center continues to provide technical support to guarantee the success of the electronic assessment system.

⭕Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim stated that implementing electronic exams comes within the framework of supporting students' skills in using modern technologies. He emphasized that the experience contributes to enhancing their readiness to deal with digital assessment systems and provides them with practical experience that aligns with the job market's requirements in the field of educational technology for people with disabilities.

⭕The college concluded the activities of this experiment by emphasizing that the shift towards electronic exams represents a strategic step towards a smart university and college that relies on technology in various aspects of the educational process, which contributes to preparing graduates qualified to deal with the requirements of the digital age, and enhances the competitiveness of the university and college at the local and international levels.
