"National Security Challenges" - A seminar at the Faculty of Specific Education, Zagazig University, to promote national awareness among students.


⭕As part of the awareness and educational role played by academic institutions in supporting societal issues and consolidating the values ​​of national belonging, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of Zagazig University, Professor Dr. Ehab El-Beblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Hanan El-Nahhas, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Specific Education, represented by its Training Unit, organized an educational seminar entitled "National Security Challenges" on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. This seminar was held in cooperation with the State Information Service, represented by the General Directorate of Media for East Delta and the Directorate of Media for Sharqia Governorate, in Lecture Hall (B) at the Faculty.

The seminar witnessed a distinguished student turnout and was held under the supervision and in the presence of Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty; Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Professor Dr. Safinaz Samir, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research. It was organized by Professor Dr. Taghreed Barakat, Director of the Training Unit, and featured the participation of Mr. Desouki Abdullah, Director General of the General Administration of Media for East Delta and Director of the Zagazig Media Complex. The seminar was a scientific and awareness-raising dialogue that addressed the dimensions of national security and the current challenges facing the Egyptian state.

The seminar covered a number of important topics related to the concept of national security and its various dimensions. It also highlighted contemporary regional and international challenges and the role of community awareness in supporting the stability of the state, while emphasizing the importance of integrating efforts between educational and media institutions in disseminating a culture of awareness and national responsibility.

The seminar was held under the auspices of Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty; Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Professor Dr. Safinaz Samir, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research. ⭕In his address during the symposium, Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that raising awareness of national security issues is a fundamental pillar in building the character of a conscious university student. He pointed out that universities serve as intellectual platforms that contribute to preparing qualified individuals capable of confronting various challenges and supporting the stability of the nation.

⭕For his part, Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, explained that organizing such events contributes to developing students' understanding of the nature of the challenges surrounding the country and strengthens their sense of responsibility and belonging. He stressed the importance of continuing awareness programs that support the development of an enlightened student consciousness.

⭕Professor Dr. Safinaz Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, also affirmed that disseminating a culture of awareness regarding national security issues is a fundamental pillar in building an educated university community capable of actively contributing to achieving stability and development. She emphasized the importance of linking academic awareness with national awareness.

Professor Desouki Abdullah highlighted the vital role of the State Information Service in enhancing public awareness and conveying the true picture of events. He emphasized that responsible media represents the first line of defense against rumors and fourth-generation warfare, which target the stability of societies.

Professor Dr. Taghreed Barakat, Director of the Training Unit, explained that organizing this seminar is part of the unit's plan to implement awareness and educational programs that contribute to developing students' awareness and building their intellectual capabilities, in line with the requirements of the current era.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants stressed the importance of continued cooperation between educational and media institutions in disseminating national awareness and promoting social responsibility. This cooperation contributes to preparing a conscious generation capable of protecting the nation's achievements, actively participating in the development process, and consolidating the foundations of security and stability.
