The Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University is organizing an educational seminar on the role of home economics in promoting a culture of entrepreneurship.


⭕As part of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University's commitment to promoting entrepreneurship awareness and linking academic aspects with practical applications, the Home Economics Department organized a distinguished educational seminar entitled: "From the Kitchen to the Market: Home Economics as an Approach to Fostering a Culture of Entrepreneurship." The seminar was held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Lecture Hall (B) of the new building.

⭕The seminar was held under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of the University; Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty; and Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. It was supervised by Professor Dr. Safinaz Samir, Head of the Home Economics Department, and included the participation of Professor Dr. Taghreed Barakat, the department's Activities Coordinator.

The seminar was presented by Dr. Noha Fawzy El-Baz, a lecturer in clothing and textiles. She discussed the importance of utilizing home economics skills in developing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and how to transform simple ideas into marketable products. This contributes to supporting a culture of self-employment and fostering entrepreneurship.

The seminar witnessed significant student engagement, with numerous practical ideas and real-world examples demonstrating how home economics can be leveraged to build successful projects that meet market needs.

Professor Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that organizing this seminar aligns with the Faculty's strategy to cultivate innovative thinking among students and promote a culture of entrepreneurship as a fundamental pillar in shaping the university student's character. He also highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between academic studies and labor market demands to achieve sustainable development.

The event concluded by underscoring the importance of continuing to organize such awareness seminars, which contribute to honing students' skills and broadening their horizons towards self-employment and small businesses. This supports the state's direction towards empowering youth and strengthening a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.
