The Council of the Faculty of Specific Education, Zagazig University, in its session (195): Quality decisions that enhance governance and advance the course of academic and research development.


⭕In line with institutional directives based on strategic planning and the strengthening of governance principles, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of Zagazig University, Professor Dr. Ehab El-Beblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Hanan El-Nahhas, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Specific Education Council held its 195th session on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky Gaballah, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Faculty Council, and attended by the Vice Deans, Heads of Academic Departments, and Council members. The Council discussed a comprehensive set of academic, research, and organizational matters, reflecting a clear vision for developing institutional performance and enhancing the quality of educational outcomes.

⭕The Council began its proceedings by exchanging greetings on the occasions of Easter and Spring, before moving on to a comprehensive agenda covering various sectors of the Faculty, in an atmosphere characterized by seriousness and institutional coordination. The Council approved the schedules for the practical and theoretical examinations for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, a step aimed at ensuring discipline and the efficient conduct of the examination process.

It also discussed amendments to the academic regulations, particularly those related to the English Language Teacher Preparation Program, to ensure alignment of assessment systems with academic warning mechanisms, within the framework of promoting educational fairness and flexibility. The Council also reviewed the academic performance monitoring reports for March to assess quality indicators and improve outcomes.

In the context of future planning, the Council approved the proposed number of new students to be admitted for the 2026/2027 academic year, totaling 1,500 students, distributed between general and new programs, reflecting the growing demand for specialized fields.

Regarding postgraduate studies, the Council approved the organization of the College's Seventh Scientific Conference, entitled "Quality Education Between Innovation and Entrepreneurship," a step that strengthens the link between scientific research and development requirements. The Council also approved the awarding of several Master's and Doctoral degrees in various disciplines, in addition to approving the registration of new dissertations addressing contemporary issues, including the mental health of student teachers and digital transformation in educational administration. This reflects a clear trend towards applied research relevant to real-world needs.

As part of its commitment to fostering a culture of quality, the Council emphasized the importance of accurate documentation and administrative discipline in quality assurance files. The internal committees within the Quality Unit were also restructured to enhance performance efficiency and strengthen monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.

The Council approved the development of new academic programs to meet labor market needs, including a program for preparing arts specialists and rehabilitation for people with disabilities, as well as programs for preparing primary school teachers in Arabic language and mathematics. This supports the state's efforts to develop basic education.

The Council also approved the secondment of several faculty members to other universities, demonstrating the high academic standing of the college's staff. In his address, Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, affirmed that the decisions issued by the council reflect a proactive approach to developing the educational and research system. He emphasized that the faculty strives to solidify its position as a center of high-quality expertise by updating its academic programs and aligning them with the evolving needs of the labor market, while adhering strictly to quality standards.

The outcomes of this session confirm that the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University is steadily progressing towards achieving institutional excellence and actively contributing to the realization of Egypt's Vision 2030 goals by preparing qualified graduates capable of innovation and competitiveness in the job market.
