◼️"Reviving Heritage and Recycling Textiles": A workshop at the Faculty of Specific Education, Zagazig University, promotes innovation and sustainability in the clothing and textile sector.
⭕In line with the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University's commitment to supporting innovation, promoting sustainability, and linking education with practical application, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, University President, and Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Safinaz Samir, Head of the Home Economics Department, and organized by Professor Dr. Taghreed Barakat, Activities Coordinator in the Department, the Home Economics Department organized a distinguished workshop entitled "Reviving Heritage and Recycling Textiles" on Monday, April 6, 2026, in Lecture Hall (C) at the Faculty.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Taghreed Tariq, a lecturer in Clothing and Textiles in the department. She discussed innovative methods for repurposing old textiles and reviving traditional crafts using modern techniques, contributing to environmental sustainability and opening new avenues for creativity in fashion and textile design.
The workshop aimed to develop students' skills in recycling, enhance their awareness of the importance of resource conservation, and encourage them to utilize cultural heritage in producing innovative projects that blend authenticity with modernity.
In this context, Professor Dr. Akmal Shawqi, Dean of the College, emphasized that organizing this workshop aligns with the college's strategy to support practical activities that contribute to developing students' skills and bridging the gap between theory and practice.
