In line with the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University's commitment to enhancing the quality of educational services provided to international students, and under the auspices of Professor Khaled El-Darandaly, University President, and Professor Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty held a comprehensive meeting with international students on Monday, April 6, 2026. The meeting was chaired by Professor Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty, and attended by Professor Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Safinaz Samir, Acting Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Professor Hemmat El-Saqqa, Director of the International Students Unit.
The meeting addressed several vital topics, primarily monitoring the progress of the educational process for international students across various academic departments, reviewing the status of course registration for the second semester, and emphasizing the effectiveness of the academic advising system in supporting students throughout their studies. The meeting also discussed the most prominent challenges and obstacles that international students may face, both academically and administratively, working to develop practical and immediate solutions to overcome them. It also provided an opportunity to listen to their opinions and suggestions, thus enhancing their positive participation in developing the educational process.
⭕The meeting emphasized the importance of all students receiving their university email addresses, as they serve as the official means of academic communication. It also addressed the follow-up on the return of students coming from abroad after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, particularly those from the Sultanate of Oman, and stressed the importance of their regular attendance at midterm exams. Suitable alternatives were also discussed for students who were unable to take the exams on schedule.
Furthermore, the college administration emphasized the importance of fostering a spirit of cooperation and solidarity between international students and the college administration, and adhering to official channels for presenting problems and suggestions. This contributes to maintaining discipline and ensuring the smooth operation of the educational process.
⭕In this context, Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the College, affirmed that international students represent a vital element in the educational system, emphasizing the college's commitment to providing a comprehensive educational environment that supports them academically and administratively.
His Excellency indicated that this meeting comes within the framework of direct communication with students, to understand their needs and work to resolve their problems immediately, thus ensuring a distinguished educational experience that reflects the university's standing.
For his part, Professor Dr. Ehab Atef explained that the college is closely monitoring course registration procedures, emphasizing the importance of students adhering to their study plans and prerequisites to guarantee a structured academic path that leads to their success and excellence.
Professor Dr. Safinaz Samir also pointed out that the college pays close attention to monitoring the situations of international students, whether at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, to ensure they receive the necessary academic and administrative support.
In the same context, Professor Dr. Hemmat El-Saqqa affirmed that the International Students Unit works to facilitate all procedures for students and provide them with continuous support, while ensuring a swift response to any inquiries or problems they may encounter.
