Towards institutional accreditation: Zagazig University holds a workshop on accreditation of academic programs.


In a strategic step toward enhancing the quality of academic education and meeting institutional accreditation requirements, and under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khaled El-Drandali, President of Zagazig University, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, and His Excellency Prof. Dr. Akmal Shawky, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research and Quality Coordinator at the Faculty, the Faculty's Quality Unit organized a workshop entitled "Together We Accredit Our Faculty." The workshop aims to complete the accreditation of academic programs and progress toward institutional accreditation. The workshop was presented by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Salah Sherif, Quality and Accreditation Expert and former Dean of the Faculty, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in the discussion hall of the Home Economics Building, at 12:00 PM.
During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Salah Sherif reviewed academic accreditation standards, explaining ways to meet quality requirements for various academic programs. He emphasized the importance of adhering to national and international standards to achieve institutional excellence. He emphasized that "accreditation is not just a certificate; it is an ongoing commitment to improvement and development that serves students and the academic community." For his part, Prof. Hani Helmy Hamid, Dean of the College, emphasized that this workshop is part of a series of activities aimed at promoting a culture of quality and establishing it as a foundation for the educational process. He noted that "achieving institutional accreditation represents a qualitative shift in the College's journey and reflects the efforts of all its members to advance the educational system."
Prof. Akmal Shawky, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, also noted that developing academic programs in accordance with quality standards contributes to raising the College's ranking locally and internationally. He explained that "quality assurance is no longer an option, but rather a necessity imposed by the requirements of modern education and the labor market."
In the same context, Prof. Hanan Al-Sadiq Radwan, Director of the Quality Unit, emphasized that the Quality Unit continues to provide technical and advisory support to faculty members, emphasizing the importance of concerted efforts to achieve institutional accreditation as soon as possible. The workshop was part of a series of intensive efforts by the college to complete the accreditation of its academic programs. This reflects its commitment to implementing quality standards and ensuring institutional excellence in accordance with the latest educational systems, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 to develop higher education and enhance its competitiveness. It is worth noting that the workshop was widely attended by faculty members and support staff, emphasizing the important role of the education system in achieving academic leadership.
