Zagazig University holds an expanded symposium to discuss “Regional Conflicts and Their Relationship to Egyptian National Security”


Within the framework of the enlightening role played by Zagazig University, the Faculty of Specific Education, in cooperation with the South East Media Center, organized an extensive media symposium entitled "Regional Conflicts and Their Relationship to Egyptian National Security". The symposium was held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 AD, in the discussion hall of the faculty at exactly eleven o'clock in the morning, under the auspices of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khaled El-Drandali, President of the University, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Jihan Youssef, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ahmed Badie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and organized by Prof. Dr. Samah Abdel Fattah, Director of the Exhibitions and Conferences Organization Unit at the Faculty. The symposium was opened by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ahmed Badie, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, with a speech in which he stressed the importance of enhancing national awareness in facing current challenges. He pointed out that love of the homeland and working for its progress is a collective responsibility, stressing the importance of cooperation between academic and media institutions to spread facts and confront rumors that threaten the stability of society.
For his part, Major General Mohsen Saad Metwally, strategic and military expert, gave a lecture on the impact of regional conflicts on Egyptian national security. He highlighted the importance of strengthening the values ​​of belonging and citizenship as basic pillars for protecting the state and its gains, in addition to his call to develop community awareness in dealing with economic and security challenges, and confronting misinformation campaigns that aim to undermine national confidence.
Major General Tariq Mohi El-Din Ajeez, former Assistant Minister of Interior, also delivered a speech on the dangers associated with drugs and their impact on Egyptian national security. He explained the close relationship between psychological and social security and national stability, calling for working to build youth who enjoy psychological and physical strength, capable of facing challenges and participating in the comprehensive development process.
The symposium was distinguished by artistic participation that added a distinct national dimension, as Assistant Professor Dr. Ayatollah Salah, Assistant Professor in the Department of Music Education, presented a patriotic song that was well received by the audience. Dr. Ibrahim Gharib also excelled with his sweet voice in presenting a song expressing the love of Egypt. The event was enriched by the participation of religious singer Mr. Mohamed El-Shahat with a distinctive spiritual performance. The symposium witnessed a distinguished presence of faculty members, assistant staff and students, under the meticulous organization supervised by the Exhibitions and Conferences Organization Unit. Everyone confirmed that the event reflected the combined efforts of all participants and their keenness to achieve the symposium's goals. The event concluded with thanks and appreciation to the participating leaders and experts, emphasizing that Egypt will remain a model of steadfastness and challenge in the face of any dangers. The pledge was renewed to continue working to consolidate its security and stability, based on the role of the university and college in promoting the values ​​of patriotism and community awareness.
