Students of Zagazig University with special needs excel in the International Conference on Special Education at Misr University for Science and Technology.


Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khaled El-Drandali, President of Zagazig University, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ehab El-Beblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, and His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University participated in the activities of the International Conference on Special Education, organized by the Faculty of Special Education at Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) under the title "Special Education and Quality of Life in Light of Contemporary Global Trends" during the period from November 16 to 18, 2024 AD. The participation witnessed a remarkable and distinguished presence from His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy, Dean of the Faculty, who led the faculty delegation with a majestic presence, confirming the faculty's continuous support for students with disabilities and enhancing their creative abilities. The faculty's participation was distinguished by the display of an exceptional collection of paintings and artworks created by students of the Department of Art Education from the deaf category. The artworks were highly praised by all attendees, as they reflected skill and creativity that express the artistic excellence of this category. His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ehab El-Beblawy, Vice President of Zagazig University for Graduate Studies and Research and Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and the main speaker at the conference, praised the quality of the artworks and their role in highlighting the students' potential and innovations. In his speech during the conference, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy praised the efforts of the college students and their accompanying team, stressing: "Our participation in this conference is not only a testament to the excellence of our students, but it is also an opportunity to highlight the energies and creativity of people with disabilities, which deserve all support and praise. We will continue to work on developing their skills and supporting them to be distinguished ambassadors for the Faculty of Specific Education in local and international forums." The delegation was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Lamia Ahmed, Professor in the Department of Music Education, and Dr. Lubna Matar, sign language interpreter, who was distinguished by her enthusiasm and tireless efforts in supporting students and translating sign language skillfully to highlight students' talents and facilitate their communication with the audience, and Ms. Marwa Abbas, a teaching assistant in the Department of Art Education, who contributed effectively to organizing the artistic participations.
The conference was attended by a group of faculty members from Zagazig University and various Egyptian and Arab universities, which gave the event a distinctive academic character that enhanced cooperation and interaction between different educational institutions.
This participation comes within the efforts of the Faculty of Specific Education to support Egypt's Vision 2030 to achieve equal opportunities and enhance the integration of people with disabilities in various fields, while highlighting their active role in society through creativity and innovation.
