Within the framework of strengthening cultural relations and civilizational exchange between peoples, the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University organized, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, a distinguished celebration on the occasion of the 54th National Day of the Sultanate of Oman, under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khaled El-Drandali, President of Zagazig University, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ehab El-Beblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Akmal Shawky, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ahmed Badie, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and organized by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Samah Abdel Fattah, Director of the Exhibitions and Conferences Organization Unit at the Faculty. The celebration witnessed a high-level presence of academic leaders, led by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Adel Saraya, Advisor to the President of the University for Community Communication and Supervisor of the Colleges of the North Eastern Sector, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Marri, Professor and Former Dean of the College of Specific Education, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hassan Rabie, Professor and Former Dean of the College of Agriculture, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Shehata Hosni, Dean of the College of Early Childhood, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Nabeel, Director of the University's Expatriates Department, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Reham Ehab, Head of the Department of Music Education, and Maestro Prof. Dr. Hani Hassan, Professor in the Department of Music Education.
The celebration activities were inaugurated with the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, followed by the national anthem of the Sultanate of Oman, in an atmosphere of pride and appreciation for the depth of relations between the two countries. This was followed by the recitation of fragrant verses from the Holy Quran, adding a distinctive spiritual atmosphere to the ceremony.
In his opening speech, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy, Dean of the College, welcomed the honorable attendees, stressing that this celebration embodies the depth of historical and cultural relations between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman. His Excellency pointed out that the College of Specific Education is proud to be an incubator for creativity and cultural diversity, stressing the importance of enhancing cultural exchange between Egyptian and Omani students, which contributes to building bridges of cooperation and mutual respect.
His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ihab Atef, Vice Dean of the College for Education and Student Affairs, also delivered a speech in which he praised the role played by incoming students in enriching academic and cultural life within the university. His Excellency explained that the celebration comes within the framework of the college's support for cultural pluralism initiatives and encouraging student creativity, expressing his happiness with the participation of Omani students in the artistic segments and the art exhibition, which reflects talent and excellence.
The celebration included various artistic activities that highlighted the depth of the Omani cultural heritage and the creativity of the college students. The students of the Department of Art Education from the Sultanate of Oman held a distinctive art exhibition that included a group of innovative works that reflected the authenticity and high craftsmanship of the Omani heritage with its rich details and unique colors. The students of the Department of Music Education added another creative dimension by presenting a sophisticated musical concert, under the supervision of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Reham Ehab, Head of the Department of Music Education, and led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Aya Salah and Dr. Hiba Abdul Karim. The concert featured musical pieces that combined Omani authenticity with modern artistic creativity, leaving a deep impression on the attendees and enhancing the values of cultural exchange and joint creativity. Within the framework of the sophisticated artistic atmosphere that characterized the celebration, a distinctive artistic segment was presented by the college choral team, which, with its sophisticated performance, added a national atmosphere full of enthusiasm and pride. The segment was held under the supervision of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ahmed Badie, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and led by the artist Dr. Amani Samir. The team excelled in presenting a group of enthusiastic national songs that sang about the love of Egypt and its embrace of peoples, expressing the depth of the cultural and human ties that unite Egypt with sister countries, most notably the Sultanate of Oman. The segment received great interaction from the audience, as it embodied with its wonderful performance the meanings of unity, solidarity and values of tolerance that Egypt represents as a land of giving and cultural openness.
The Exhibitions and Conferences Organization Unit played a leading role in the success of the celebration activities, under the leadership of Her Excellency Prof. Dr. Samah Abdel Fattah, Director of the Unit, and with the distinguished efforts of its team members, headed by Dr. Asmaa Bakr, Assistant Professor Dr. Fatima Bahjat, and Asst. M. M. Mai Abdel Aziz. Their fingerprints were evident in the finest details of the organization, in cooperation with Egyptian and Omani students who excelled in embodying the values of commitment and innovation, to present an honorable model that reflects professionalism and excellence in preparing an event befitting the status of the college and its academic and cultural mission, and in organizing a cultural and artistic event of this size and mastery.
It is worth noting that Prof. Dr. Samah Abdel Fattah, the presenter of the celebration and Director of the Exhibitions and Conferences Organization Unit, expressed her pride and honor in organizing this event, which reflects the distinguished cultural cooperation between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman. She stressed that the celebration is a valuable opportunity to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries, and to highlight the cultural and artistic heritage of the Sultanate of Oman.
