Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, Zagazig University, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ihab Atef, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and His Excellency Asst. Prof. Dr. Doaa Mustafa, Director of the Academic Guidance Unit, the Academic Guidance Unit at the Faculty carried out a series of field inspection visits that included all scientific departments, on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 29 and 30, 2024 AD, to follow up on the progress of the academic guidance process and registration of courses for students in the first semester of the academic year 2024/2025 AD. These visits come as part of the Faculty administration's keenness to ensure course registration and provide the necessary support to students at the beginning of the academic year. Asst. Prof. Dr. Doaa Mustafa, Director of the Academic Guidance Unit at the Faculty, explained that these visits aim to identify the academic needs of students and provide the necessary advice and guidance to ensure that they get the best benefit from the offered courses. She also stressed the role of academic guidance in enhancing students' communication with departments and faculty members, which contributes to improving academic performance and reducing the challenges that students may face during their academic career. Her Excellency also praised the efforts made by the academic departments through workshops and seminars, to ensure the provision of a distinguished and supportive educational environment for students. She commended the cooperation and coordination between the heads of departments and academic coordinators in each department, as each of them played a prominent role in guiding students and assisting them in the process of registering for courses. In the Department of Home Economics, she referred to the efforts of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Safinaz Samir, Head of the Department, and Prof. Dr. Rehab Jumaa, Academic Coordinator, in organizing the academic guidance process and providing the necessary support to students. In the Department of Educational Media, she commended His Excellency Prof. Dr. Nadia Abdel Hafez, Head of the Department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdo Ramadan, Academic Coordinator, for their commitment to facilitating the registration process and their keenness to guide students effectively. As for the Department of Musical Sciences, she commended the efforts of Her Excellency Prof. Dr. Reham Ehab, Head of the Department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Amira Abdel Aziz, Academic Coordinator, in providing an environment that encourages academic excellence and supports students’ talents. In the Department of Educational Technology, she expressed her appreciation for the work of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Iman Shaaban, Head of the Department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Naglaa Saeed, Academic Coordinator, for their good management of the guidance process and follow-up of students.
She also noted the outstanding efforts in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, led by H.E. Prof. Dr. Hanem Khaled, Head of the Department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Fatima Bahjat, Academic Coordinator, as they contributed to providing integrated guidance that takes into account the students’ academic and psychological needs alike.
In a special statement, Prof. Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, stated that the college prioritizes improving the educational environment and providing all means that support students’ academic achievement. He added: “We are working continuously to facilitate all procedures and provide support and guidance, believing in the importance of the integrated educational process that places the student at the forefront of our priorities.”
Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy, Dean of the College, expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Academic Guidance Unit and the work team who worked hard to implement these field visits, stressing that such initiatives contribute to building a stimulating and supportive educational environment that meets the needs of students and achieves the university’s vision towards a qualitative and distinguished education.
