The Department of Home Economics at Zagazig University holds an introductory workshop on the controls and regulations governing field training.


In the context of enhancing the level of field training and maintaining the quality of the educational process, the Department of Home Economics at the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University organized an introductory workshop on Monday, October 21, 2024, under the auspices of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hani Helmy El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty, and His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ehab Atef Ezzat, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and at the kind invitation of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Safinaz Samir, Head of the Department of Home Economics, and His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ghada Abdel Fattah, Head of the Practical Education Office. The workshop aimed to shed light on the controls and regulations governing the field training course, and to emphasize the importance of students acquiring the necessary skills that qualify them for field work. The workshop was attended by Ms. Susan Georgy, General Supervisor of Home Economics, and Dr. Manal Marouf, Directorate Supervisor of Home Economics. The workshop addressed several main axes, most notably clarifying the educational objectives of the field training course, and the importance of diversifying teaching strategies used in training. The importance of using innovative and effective educational methods to attract students' attention and ensure maximum benefit for school students was also emphasized, which contributes to the proper consolidation of information.

The role of external and internal supervisors was also addressed, and the duties assigned to each of them during the field training stages were stated, with emphasis on the need for teamwork and integration between all participating parties to achieve distinguished educational results. In addition, students were guided on preparing course files and clarifying evaluation methods and grade distribution mechanisms according to the regulations in force in the credit hour system.

The organization of this workshop came within the framework of the college's keenness to maintain the quality of the educational process and graduate qualified cadres from the Home Economics Teacher Preparation Program accredited by the Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority. The workshop targeted third and fourth level students, covering the field training requirements in the "Field Training 1 and 2" courses for the third level, and Field Training 3 and 4 for the fourth level.
It is worth noting that the workshop was attended by a number of faculty members and assistant staff in the Home Economics Department, and witnessed a large turnout of male and female students who interacted with all the topics presented and all their inquiries and questions were answered.
The workshop concluded with a closing speech delivered by Her Excellency Prof. Dr. Safinaz Samir, in which she expressed her thanks and appreciation to all participants for their effective efforts, praising their role in the success of the workshop, which is an important step in developing the educational process and achieving excellence in field training.
