⭕In line with Zagazig University's commitment to supporting scientific research and promoting sustainable development, and under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of Zagazig University, and Her Excellency Professor Dr. Hanan El-Nahhas, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and with the patronage and attendance of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ehab El-Biblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, participated on Wednesday, December 19, 2025, in the 20th International Conference on Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Science, Zagazig University. The conference, themed "Basic Sciences and Their Applications for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development," aimed to highlight the pivotal role of basic sciences in developing scientific solutions to address environmental challenges and support sustainable development goals.
⭕On the sidelines of his participation in the conference, Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, held a meeting with the heads of the faculty's academic departments, in the presence of Professor Dr. Ehab Atef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, to enhance institutional coordination and ensure the smooth operation of the educational and examination processes.
The meeting addressed several general issues related to enhancing academic and administrative performance within the academic departments. Emphasis was placed on ensuring the quality of the evaluation system and maintaining discipline during study and examination periods. The meeting also reviewed indicators of readiness for the upcoming semester and explored ways to develop the learning environment, laboratories, and infrastructure supporting the educational process, all in the best interest of the students and in line with the university's goals of improving the educational system.
In his address, Professor Akmal Shawky affirmed that the college's participation in international scientific conferences stems from its belief in the importance of integrating scientific research with societal and environmental issues. He stressed that academic discipline and institutional commitment are fundamental pillars for enhancing the quality of the educational process and ensuring the integrity of evaluation. He also called for strengthening teamwork within departments and intensifying monitoring during study and examination periods, in order to serve the best interests of the students and reflect a positive image of the college and the university.
⭕In conclusion, the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University affirms its continued openness to major scientific events, and the intensification of organizational and academic efforts to ensure the quality of education and raise the efficiency of institutional performance, in support of the university’s mission to serve the community and achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030, which enhances its scientific standing locally and regionally.
