Handmade Products Compete at Markets at Reduced Prices at Zagazig University Exhibition

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Badie, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University, stated that the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University occupies a prominent position among Egyptian colleges. The participation of students from the Home Economics and Fine Arts departments at the faculty in the annual exhibition of faculties and productive departments, organized by the university, aims to showcase the college's progress in various fields, while offering products for sale at prices less competitive than those in the market. This serves citizens, university staff, faculty members, and university dormitories, with the goal of students earning a profit margin from marketing their products.

Abdel Badie continued, stating that the faculty is unique among other university faculties in that it is the closest to the labor market. Given that its graduates are capable of working in a variety of fields, as students are trained to manufacture products and undertake special projects, the market is in greater need of practical work than theoretical work. The Faculty of Specific Education is distinguished by its departments and faculty members, as evidenced by the highly skilled design of copper works, photography, and printing, all beautifully executed by the Art Education Department.

Dr. Safinaz Samir Mohamed, Head of the Home Economics Department at the Faculty of Specific Education, Zagazig University, said that the products on display are handmade pieces of art, designed by the department's students, who are considered entrepreneurs. They meticulously and skillfully design products that compete with market products in terms of quality, color selection, and materials for handicrafts, innovative ideas, and furniture pieces used in home decor. The prices of the products are affordable for everyone, from university students, staff, faculty members, and visitors from the outside community, with the goal of achieving the greatest possible benefit for citizens.

This came on the sidelines of the opening activities of the annual exhibition of productive faculties and departments at Zagazig University, in the presence of Dr. Gihan Yousry, Vice President of Zagazig University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled El-Drandali, President of the University, and in the presence of Eng.
